The Self-Report Delinquency Scale (Elliot et al., 1983) will be used in testing Hypothesis 2b. This Scale consists of 23 items from the National Youth Survey (Huizinga & Elliot, 1983). Items assess adolescent criminal behavior on five subscales: 1) Total Delinquency, 2) General Theft, 3) Crimes Against Persons, 4) Index Offenses, and 5) Drug Scales. The instrument is well validated and has been used extensively in prior research.
